Kaitiakitanga: Week Five

By this stage in class we had the opportunity to get feedback and a critique on what we had done so far. For myself I used this time to do exactly that and work on coding and illustrations. In this session and week I kept on developing my illustrations and designs, which I wanted to incorporate as a major part and influence in the website.

Our finalised idea and answer to the brief, consisted of the small action of not starting smoking, with the big impact of wasting money. Our target audience group would be targeted towards teenagers and kids in school. Myself and Karlos thought it would be appropriate and suit best if we targeted the money aspect of smoking. This seemed a suitable aspect of smoking to counter, in regards that growing up teenagers tend to not care about their health rather than the money that they get ultimately creating a better future and bigger impact. From this we would like to design and construct a video and web page that demonstrates and illustrates this. For our target audience being teenagers, we thought it would be appropriate to pick a illustrative and cartoon like style. This would best suit our brief and accomplish our goal of achieving a sustainable and successful project question on a small action having a big impact.

My overal idea of the website layout was to display our video at the start, with several large illustrations below. These illustrations would be displayed with txt or a slogan indicating a simple but yet effective design. This simple design is because of the ease of read and display particularly towards teenagers and kids having a less attention span compared to an adult.

Kaitiakitanga: Week Four

Mondays lesson saw Tim present a lecture in the pit on HTML and CSS. Before this presentation Myself and my partner had briefed and introduced ourself to coding by watching different tutorial's and looking at a range of helpful websites. From this lecture we had the chance to customise and practice with HTML/CSS. From this stage we were given our project and given the rest of the time to work and get feedback. From here on in. "It was all over to you" On Thursday's class we were given another presentation regarding FADP's in motion and a more advanced After Effects. This also included an introduction to audio with Jason and on some useful advice on how to approach sound within the project. From this myself and Karlos continued to develop and continue both the website and video.
